Two of my favorite things about Central Park - Tavern on the Green and the Shakespeare Garden.
I love the Chinese lanterns, they look even more amazing at night.
Our son, who lives in NYC introduced us to the Shakespeare Garden a few years ago. It is fun to see it at different times of the year. These pictures were taken last May. You can learn more about the Shakespeare Garden in Central Park by visiting: http://www.centralparknyc.org/site/PageServer?pagename=virtualpark_thegreatlawn_shakespearegarden
Be sure to double click on this next one...the violets. Then you can read the plaque.
I hope you have a wonderful Outdoor Wednesday!
Thanks for visiting my blog.

ReplyDeleteI don't like BIG cities but I'm looking forward to going back to the Big Apple. I went with my daughters choir 3 years ago...we saw so much in a short week...I WANT TO GO BACK! Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteLOVE Central Park... I"ve been Tavern on the Green a couple times but I have never eaten or drank anything from there... maybe some day I will at least have a glass of water... lol
ReplyDeleteThat's one of my favorite quotes from Shakespeare.
ReplyDeleteWasn't it a wonderful idea to create this green space in the middle of a busy city. I'd not heard of this garden before. Thanks for sharing.

I love your photos though they make me homesick.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. I've never been to New York, let alone Central Park. My eldest girl has though, and she absolutely loves it. She'll be returning next month for her third visit. I think after she graduates from Med School I may lose her to the East Coast. She loves it that much.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics. What a great place. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,

Karen,
ReplyDeleteGreat post! :-) I have always wanted to go to Central Park (I hear it can take days to see all of it). Now I know of two great places to see!
I read the plaque. It really is a beautiful quote. I never thought of marigolds weeping, but it does sound sweet.
Thanks so much for sharing your pictures!
xoxo
