"Warming" up our bathroom window!

This is my debut into the the world of Metamorphosis Monday. Many thanks to Susan at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/2009/04/welcome-to-13th-metamorphosis-monday.html
After much thought, I decided that our bathroom window needed...something. I was thinking a wooden or matchstick blind. We don't need it for privacy because the window is frosted. But something seems missing...

Boring and blah! I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I went to my favorite fabric store - Interior Fabrics - and walked around and around in circles totally confused. I knew I only needed 5 yards of fabric, but which fabric? They were having a spring sale (lucky for me!) I found a stripe with colors that we used in our bedroom and I did want to tie the two rooms together. I really do enjoy sewing and it has been a long time since I brought out the sewing machine.

Here is my metamorphosis! I think it warms up the bathroom nicely. I am still thinking of adding a wood blind or matchstick. What do you think?

And here is a peek at the bedroom that inspired the colors... Complete with one of my babies.

  5. Love your curtains. You did a great job. I would love to see white plantation blinds in addition to your curtains on the window. They are inexpensive and can be purchased at Lowes or Home Depot. I think it will tie everything together very nicely.

  11. Beautiful!! Isn't it amazing that even the smallest things can made a difference in a room. The addition of your new curtains just make that area "pop!" What a transformation!

I love the fabric you picked and I'm sure I would have picked out something just like it. I tend to love plaids/stripes and love the jewel tone colors. It looks like we have the same taste in decorating!
